The SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 and GOLD B measure the electrical conductivity using the phase-sensitive eddy current method, which is approved by both DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E 1004 for determining conductivity. This kind of signal evaluation allows for contact-free determination of a substrate’s electrical conductivity, even under paint or plastic coatings up to 500 μm thick. This method also marginalises the influence of surface roughness.
Features and applications of our SIGMASCOPE® SMP350 conductivity meter
Applications:
The SMP350 can measure the electrical conductivity
of any non-magnetisable metal. Furthermore, since the electrical conductivity provides data about other material properties, it is effective in a wide range of measuring applications and fields of use, including:
- Quality assurance and sorting of raw materials
- Authentication of coin alloys (e.g. specific
conductivity of Euro coins) - Assessing hardness and strength of heat-treated materials
- Inspection of heat damage, material fatigue and cracks
- Estimating the phosphorous content in copper
- Tracking precipitation processes, e.g. for Cu-Cr alloys
- Testing the homogeneity of alloys
- Scrap metal sorting
Features:
- Statistical display of significant values such as mean value, standard deviation, min, max and range
- Manufacturer’s certificate is included in the scope of supply
- Extremely easy calibration and normalisation procedure
- Measurement in “continuous display mode” for running a scan over a region of a surface.
- Easily interchangeable units of measurement (MS/m or %IACS)
- Measurement range: 0.5 – 65 MS/m or
1 – 112% IACS - USB interface for data exporting together with a PC software is included
- Measurements pursuant to ASTM E 1004 and DIN EN 2004-1
- SMP350 fulfills Boeing specification BAC 5651
Features and applications of our SIGMASCOPE® GOLD B & C conductivity gauge
Applications:
Precious metal alloys and fine gold all differ in their electrical conductivity, making this physical dimension ideal for material analysis of bullion and coins. In just a few seconds the SIGMASCOPE GOLD can determine the conductivity of a sample with an unmatched precision:
- Quality assurance and sorting of gold bullion bars
- Authentication of gold bullion alloys
- Assessing hardness and strength of gold bullion bars
- Testing the homogeneity of gold bullion bars
Features:
- Statistical display of significant values such as mean value, standard deviation, min, max and range
